A year after his untimely passing I’m still upset about the loss of vocalist Mark Murphy. His was an immense star in the jazz firmament and I would be hard pressed to find another artist who appealed to such a wide audience demographic without compromising his artistic integrity in any way whatsoever. So I was most pleased to learn of the release of a new anthology of his work. It spans his complete catalogue cheery picking some of his best work. We bring you one of his lesser known gems for this week's show. We also shine a spotlight on some of the UK’s fine young jazz musicians who are currently making an impression – Nerija, Oscar Jerome, Maisha and the fantastic Poppy Ajudha. Also new music from Joyce, Solange Knowles, Nia Andrews, Edwin Sanz and Khari Cabral & Jiva.
