As we bed into this beautiful hot summer I turn to all things mellow, jazzy and soulful to help out Mother Nature just a little.
Soulful business a plenty courtesy of Jill Scott, GOMO, Shaun Martin, Native Dancer, D'Angelo to name just a few. We've a soulful Brazilian crossover gem from Lucas Arruda, Guida De Palma & Leon Ware, an epic (no pun intended) tune from Kamasi Washington, the sweet soulful sound of Sydney courtesy of Daniel March and a revisit to a classic from Richmond VA's favourite son D'Angelo.
Legendary jazz drummer Terri Lyne Carrington returns to the all female territory that is The Mosaic Project and delivers storming collabs with Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Patrice Rushen, Chantae Moore, Lalah Hathaway et al. We present something special from the LP featuring Nancy Wilson. We also give Glasper's new LP some attention with two tracks back-to-back and we talk to the kings of the real soul scene, unique to the UK, The Stone Foundation. They showcase tracks from their new LP 'A Life Unlimited'.
